What’s this site all about…

Hi Everyone and thanks for stopping by Breathing Through the Chaos! You may have popped by on purpose, because you know me personally, or you may be here by chance. Either way I am excited you are here — so what is this site all about?! Well, it’s mostly a life blog about my crazy, imperfect, beautiful chaotic life. In the mix you will find out what it means to live life as a wife to a man with Cystic Fibrosis, a mom to an energetic little toddler, a professor of Child Development, and a follower of Jesus Christ.

With everything that is going on in my life I have often been told that in order to process my emotions they need to be expressed, in some way, shape or form. If you know me well, you know that this is a bit difficult for me, so I have come to the conclusion that I need to journal these feelings, opinions, thoughts, fears, joys…….and what better way than on a blog for everyone to see?! Gulp, insert anxious face, so let’s get started!

You will find my journals under the title “Life Blog”. This will chronicle my chaotic life. I will talk about my wonderful and strong husband who is nearing the need for a double lung transplant. I will speak about my sweet and funny toddler and what it means to have him in my life. And how I juggle a disabled husband, a crazy baby, and a job as a professor without going insane (hint; it has something to do with my faith!)!

In addition to that I will also be posting what I am titling “Ashley’s Parenting Soap Box” — this will be the section for helpful tips, tricks, and rants about parenting. As a preschool teacher for eight years, a mom, and a professor of Early Childhood Education I have oodles to say on this topic!

Are you looking for some assistance at your School — are you in need of an environmental change, a curriculum change, or maybe you need a refresher course on a child development topic for your teachers? Check out my “Services” page to see how I can help your school!

Lastly, if you want to know a bit more about me (in a condensed nut shell) then check out my “About Me” page.

I truly hope that you will find this site to be informative and inspirational — please join me on my life journey and comment, ask questions, or help me to breathe through the chaos!

love ya,

Ashley 💕
